22 years ago,in 1987,Michael Jackson visited Zhongshan, in China! It’s the only trip Jackson took to China mainland!
Jackson was on vacation in Hongkong in October,1987. Then on 27th , he got the chance to set his feet on China mainland! At that time, China just started its reforming and opening up. Entertainment is not so hot. Only some young people who could reach western music knowed Michael Jackson! But his apperance got the attention of local viliagers and foreign visitors soon. Lots of fans and locals asked to took pictures with him. Jackson preferred Chinese villiage life. So He chose Zhongshan city,a city named after famous revolutionist Sun Yat-sen. He visited Sun’s museum and loved zhong Shan jacket, a style of chinese uniform. It is said that Jackson aked his assistant to help him got one!
It’s really a big pity for Chinese that Jackson didn’t perform a concert in China mainland! He get so many fans in China but never left his voices in China! In spite of this, we wish Jackson could make it in the heaven!
